Hearing Test

& Audiometry

In order to adjust your hearing aid to your individual requirements, we first determine your personal hearing profile, or "audiogram." This is done by testing your ability to hear a variety of speech and environmental sounds.

Fittings

To determine the optimum settings for your hearing aids, we use your audiogram, acoustical parameters of the hearing device, and run real ear measurements, as well as your personal impression of how well you can hear. This adjustment process is carried out using the appropriate manufacturer computer software.

When adjusting your hearing aids, we take various measurements to check how well you can hear. Once we teach you how to operate them and instruct you on the energy supply (batteries), you should wear your new hearing aids for a few days in your regular surroundings.

Based upon what you tell us about how well you can hear in your everyday surroundings, we will make any necessary adjustments to your hearing aids or add additional specific programs.

Real Ear Measurement

Real Ear Measurement

With every hearing aid fitting this measurement test is performed. A thin probe microphone is inserted into the ear canal alongside the hearing aid. We will obtain readings of the exact sound levels you are receiving from the hearing aid while listening to various recorded speech samples. We can then precisely adjust the sound levels to match target amplification levels based on your hearing loss across the different speech frequencies. No guessing or averages, just your exact target prescription.

Ear Impressions

Ear Molds

Ear impressions are a model of the complete interior of your ears. They reproduce the shape of your ears using a medical grade silicone, which is crucial to the building of your perfect fitting, custom, in the ear devices and ear molds.

We also offer swim ear plugs, hunter ear plugs and musician impressions.
